The Leaky Buildings Issue

After having seen the scale of leaky homes in New Zealand, and the stress this is causing homeowners BarterZone has launched a unique rescue package to help affected homeowners.

BarterZone is ready to help people by offering an interest free credit line to help homeowners with repair costs to help repair their homes.

How does it work?

  • A member can join BarterZone through one of its free membership options.
  • The member requests an interest free line of credit to assist with repairs or re building work.
  • The members can then contact BarterZone builders and contractors that will accept part trade dollars and part cash to complete the work.
  • BarterZone staff can assist members to find suitable service providers and suppliers.
  • BarterZone may require security depending on the amount of the line of credit and the individual circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I repay the interest free line of credit?

A. By listing your goods or services to other members for trade dollars. The goods and services can be listed for full trade or part trade and part cash

Q. how long do I have to repay back the interest free line of credit

A. each application is treated individually

Q. do I need to provide security

A. depending on the amount of the interest free line of credit and the time needed to repay this back will depend on whether or not BarterZone will require security

Q. why can I not get contractors and supplies on full BarterZone

A. In some cases you can, however in most cases you will need to pay a mix of both Barter and Cash. The reason for this is the value of the BarterZone Currency is 1 $NZ Dollar equals 1$BZ Dollar. The IRD does not accept BarterZone Dollars for tax payments but does recognise that barter is to be accounted for in all accounting returns. Therefore most suppliers of goods and services will require some portion of a transaction be made in cash.
